Types of energy:
- Mechanical energy (associated with motion).
- Heat (internal motion of particles).
- Chemical (bonds atoms together).
- Electromagnetic (moving electric charges).
- Nuclear (in the atomic nucleus).
Describing energy with motions:
- Potential energy (energy stores in a object due to its position).
- Kinetic energy (energy an object has because of its motion).
Law of conservation of matter and energy:
The total matter and energy is always conserved
